This is an interdepartmental center created for the purposes outlined in Articles 1 and 2 of its Statute :

1 .- The Centre (hereinafter referred to as IGC), subject to the autonomy of each



Department member, promotes and coordinates studies and research designed to foster collaboration between


researchers from the biomedical field (biology, human and veterinary medicine), from


Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and the Applied Sciences (Engineering, Computer Science)


in order to acquire new conceptual paradigms and interpretive enabling effects


medical applications in both areas - social and technological. To this end, promotes the exchange of


information and scientific initiatives designed to promote effective interdisciplinary collaboration


in that cultural context.


2 .- The IGC coordinates the activities of research facilities participating in the field of jurisdiction,


care research programs, in collaboration with other Italian or foreign universities, public or


private part in the organization of courses, seminars and conferences and can promote the publication


scientific works.

Director of the Center is currently Professor. Giorgio Turchetti , Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Bologna.
